Case Study: Churchill Hospital, Oxford

Customer

Our customer at Churchill Hospital is G4S who are recognised as a world-renowned facilities management company. G4S employ Advanced Air UK on an annual basis to provide maintenance services and equipment checks on the Smoke Control Dampers and associated panels at the hospital.

Delivery

As Advanced Air UK’s standard procedures, the smoke control dampers and panels are subject to survey prior to any inspection works being undertaken to ensure that all units are accessible. Once this survey has been completed, it will be reviewed with G4S and any additional requirements highlighted will be evaluated and agreed to be undertaken.

Overall, the hospital has 1,036 smoke control dampers, which are controlled by 4 individual panels. The location of some of these dampers are in sensitive clerical areas of which are programmed and planned as not to disrupt the day-to-day working of the hospital. All necessary protection measures are taken to avoid any contamination to sterile areas. Due to this a considerable amount of the work needs to be completed out of hours.

The contract is a prestigious one for Advanced Air UK and through our service and commitment, G4S are keen to expand our responsibilities by offering additional works to our current remit.
